How do you describe your style?I am an on location, available-light lifestyle photographer. I use a mix of lifestyle and photo-journalistic styles to capture our session together. I will show up a little early to set up, and prep my camera and equipment, that way when you get there we can flow into our session. If you have young children, please do not ask them to look at me and smile, give me a little time to let me win them over. There is nothing more stubborn than a toddler! I’m really looking to capture more “moments”, then posed images, while I will give direction and pose you at times, for me I want to capture who you are! Come prepared to hang out, and have fun while I shoot away. My best sessions are always when people are just themselves and they’re not waiting for me to pose them. Like I said, for me, it’s about capturing kids and family at play and your relationships you have with each other. Tell the kids ( and the hubby too!) that you are going to spend the afternoon playing and having fun and Jessi is going to come along and capture it. The minute most people hear “photo shoot” they think BOOOOORRRRRIIIIGGGG, and we don’t want that! What is the process? Custom photography can take a few months from start to finish depending on both your schedule and mine.
My session is booked, now what? Now the fun starts! Once we have confirmed your session date and time I will send you out a welcome package. One thing you will find in your package is a “Getting To Know You” letter. Please take the time to fill it out with as much info as possible, this give me a little window into your lives, and helps me prep for the session. Next we will chat about your vision for the session and what you envision doing with your images (canvas, albums, wall art) about your style and what you envision everyone wearing. How do you handle an un-cooperative subject? (ie/ my toddler) I do not set time limits on shoots, because I completely understand that children, and sometimes parents, need breaks…potty breaks, playing breaks, cuddle breaks, and snack breaks. Think of your session as one big “break” from day-to-day life, a time to relax and enjoy yourself and your family, while I capture those memories and moments for you forever. Some people take a little longer to warm up to someone they have never met, but often a child’s mood depends on the parents so if you’re stressed they’re going to sense it and become stressed as well! *suggestions* Schedule your session at a happy time ie. not nap time or meal time! Talk about the photo session before hand with a positive attitude! “I’m really excited about our photo shoot, are you?” Does your son/daughter have a “lovey” that goes everywhere? Bring it! Don’t bribe with smile nice and you can have “X” when we are done! Bring a clean snack that they like. We can take a break and have a snack! Keep sugar to a minimum before your session, we don’t want a sugar high or a crash during our session
How much does it cost? Professional photography is an investment. My clients find me mostly through word of mouth, and they share my belief, that putting money aside for custom photography is important because they are investing in their family’s memories. They love their images, and want to have their images printed for all to see, whether that it is in an album or in a custom displays that I create for them. The initial investment starts with the session fee and there is a minimum order requirement of $500 on all sessions. When should I schedule? The day you decide to invest in your family memories. My maternity, newborn & family clients tend to book their sessions in advance to get their preferred date. I take on a limited amount of clients each month to ensure that my clients receive a truly custom experience. Where do we hold the session? My favorite place to shoot is outside and I’ve been known to hit the railroad tracks, find an abandoned house, a beautiful field, brick walls, whatever we can find to make your images my new favorite session ever! I’m happy to come to you to create images in your home or backyard or your favorite hang out too. How do I view my images? Your images will be ready for viewing 10-14 days after your session. Now comes the fun part! Together will view your images, select your favourites and choose your products. My role is to make your decision-making the ordering process enjoyable and stress free. I want to help you create something amazing with your images, so we’ll help you choose the images that work best together for your album, or collage so that we can create something that you are going to love! When will my order be ready?Once you place your order, your final prints will be ready in approximately 3-4 weeks. Mounted portraits & specialty items such as collages and albums & framed prints take 6-8 weeks. Holiday orders may take longer due to high volume. Rush orders are subject to a 25% surcharge. Can I order more portraits from my session in the future?I recommend that you make all your selections during the initial ordering process. Due to the nature of digital files, I am unable to archive images for any length of time, therefore, un-ordered images are purged from the system after 45 days. There is a $250.00 minimum order requirement on archived images. Are the digital files available for purchase? They are, but it will cost you. I used to sell the dvd on all orders, however, I have found that I am not happy about my work being printed and displayed in an unprofessional manner. When I see my gorgeous image in a frame at your house, printed by a non-professional lab and looking rather nasty, It makes me sad How can I get a hold of you?I can be reached at 604 780 9428. If you get the answering machine please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible, or shoot me an email me at jessi@pixelatedmemoriesphotography.com. |
